This section covers India’s 2026 T20I tour of Japan, a historic series for cricket in Japan and a rare chance to see India play a growing cricket nation on its home ground in Sano.
For Japan, games against India are about learning and exposure. For India, the tour offered a chance to look at fringe players in unfamiliar conditions, ahead of a busy year that included the Asian Games, where Japan also hosted the cricket competition.
Our coverage includes the series guide with squads and schedule, a preview for each match with the likely playing 11, pitch notes and a Dream11 team, plus result reports. We also look at the Japanese players who could become household names, some of whom also played for Japan at the Asian Games in Nisshin.
For anyone following cricket’s growth outside its traditional nations, this tour is one of the most interesting stories of the year.
